Metalworking

I create metalwork that invites viewers to appreciate the intersections between human-made objects and the natural world, along with the deeper messages that lie beneath the surface. I primarily create jewelry and free-standing sculpture, and I often find myself crafting pieces inspired by geometric shapes with details from nature embedded throughout. The stories in my work reflect my perception of society and my life experiences, particularly around my heritage and my childhood.

General Artistic Practice

My creative practice spans writing, metalworking, photography, and sculpture. I enjoy finding the intersections between each medium, and I often blend them together to express overarching themes throughout my work. I particularly focus on encompassing growth and my culture across media. I am particularly drawn to the beauty that can be found within repetition and routine, and I enjoy expanding upon small, easily overlooked details to create something meaningful out of the mundane. My writing and artistic practice are nearly inseparable: my poetry is often inspired by artwork I have created, and lines from my notebook frequently spark ideas for sculptures and photographic scenes.
